Job Description

Duties


The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is seeking talented individuals to fill various roles at the SES Band 2 level across a range of areas, which may include policy, transformation and program management, corporate, service delivery, business integration and general management. One immediate vacancy exists within the Department’s Client Engagement and Support Services (CESS) Division and an upcoming vacancy leading the Transformation and Operational Performance (TOP) Division.

CESS Division is the gateway for veterans and their families to access services that will maintain and enhance their quality of life by improving their physical and mental wellbeing. CESS Division has a presence in each state and territory and ranges from frontline service delivery through shopfronts and telephony, to health program management and contract management.

To be a strong contender for these roles, you will need to be a first class leader with a substantial policy or program management background and demonstrated record of achievement in the provision of strategic advice to Government. Your intellectual rigour, client focused approach, and ability to manage competing demands and work to tight deadlines will be complemented by excellent communication skills, an understanding of the expectations of Ministers and a personal style that engenders trust and respect.


 

Eligibility


The successfull candidate will need to:
- be an Australian citizen;
- pass the Department’s pre-employment screening process, which includes a pre-employment check; and
- have the ability to acquire and maintain an Australian Government security clearance at the Negative Vetting Level 1. This will be arranged for you, if successful.

 

Notes


A competitive salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

An order of merit may be established that may be used to fill similar roles within the next 12 months.
