Job Description

Duties


Reporting to the Chief Scientist, the Director Multilateral Engagement is responsible for developing and managing ACIAR’s contribution to multilateral research initiatives, which includes engagement with International Agricultural Research Centres (including but not limited to CGIAR and the Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions APAARI). The position supports the CEO in his role as a member of the CGIAR System Council, including by at times being the alternate delegate for Australia. The position, in consultation with Chief Scientist, General Manager Country Programs, and General Manager Outreach and Capacity Building, leads ACIAR engagement with multilateral fora and organisations such as G20, APEC, ASEAN and UN FAO, looking for opportunities to initiate and expand collaborative partnerships. The position involves representing Australia internationally, at times deputising for the CEO or other Executives.
