Chief Executive Officer - Key Leadership Role in Service Delivery for Australia’s First Peoples:

Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) is a company wholly owned by the Australian Government. AHL’s business operations provide a cost effective national network of safe, comfortable, culturally appropriate and affordable accommodation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who need to live away from home to access services and economic opportunity. A Board of Directors appointed by the Minister for Indigenous Australians is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Company, consistent with the priorities and expectations of the Minister.

As the CEO, you will be working closely with the Board of Directors and various stakeholders to manage the organisation’s performance and deliver on the Board’s strategic goals. You will be focused on adherence to good governance and public accountability, developing an agile workforce, and responding to emerging commercial and efficiency opportunities to support the complexity and breadth of AHL’s business. You will have a strong commercial focus with significant experience in risk, compliance and performance management, delivering excellence in customer service in geographically diverse and complex systems. Drawing on your extensive high level management and stakeholder skills, you will develop close working relationships at all levels within the organisation, across government and in a broader commercial business community.

To be successful in this highly rewarding and challenging role, you will be an outstanding leader with the agility and commercial operating experience to lead, plan and implement significant reform and provide strategic advice on emerging opportunities and ongoing business process improvement. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders in developing key business decisions in a manner which engenders and maintains trust and respect. Your people focus and sound judgement skills will be complemented by proven high level of business acumen, intellectual rigour, well developed communication skills and a high level of resilience and integrity.
