Job Description


The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) is seeking a suitably qualified candidate for an Executive Director role in the Assurance Audit Services Group. In this role, the preferred candidate will have a professional background demonstrating superior accounting, financial management and/or auditing skills. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a history of high performance in client and project management, as well as a demonstrated capacity to lead and manage audit operations.

In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to point to a past that is characterised by:
• the achievement of results through communication and influence rather than direction;
• the ability to develop sharply focused solutions;
• an inclusive management and leadership style;
• the effective leadership of staff to support them in dealing with and managing change;
• collaboration across organisational units and entities to achieve outcomes;
• the provision of strategic insight into government and the operations of large organisations;
• effectively utilising analytical skills and employing sound judgement; and
• personal enthusiasm, energy and resilience.

There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to utilise flexible working arrangements, including part-time working arrangements.

There are no mandatory qualifications for this role. However, Accounting and/or other relevant tertiary qualifications and membership of an accounting professional body will be highly regarded.

To be considered for employment with the ANAO you must be an Australian Citizen. You must also have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance to perform all duties of the role.
