Job Description

Duties


The Forensics Coordinator is critical to the delivery of operational outcomes, providing personal, technical and organisational leadership across a number of capability areas and teams within the Chief Scientist Portfolio.

AFP Forensics provides forensic science and technical intelligence capabilities in close support to the AFP, its agency partners and other law enforcement agencies. AFP Forensics also contributes to offshore operational outcomes and international capacity building and seeks to strengthen relationships with domestic and international organisations, including academia.

Duties:

This advistisement is for multiple Forensic Coordinator positions across a number or technical competencies. The technical requirements vary dependent on the role. However, all roles require an applicant with proven senior leadership ability.

As the successful applicant, you must provide strong leadership to:

- Achieve operational impact
- lead with authority, innovation and technical credibility across the AFP and external networks to advance forensic science and technical capabilities
- promote cultural and organisational health
- Provide strategic direction to the Forensics portfolio
- Provide technical and strategic advice to AFP Executive and government
- Build and sustain internal and external networks relationships
- Manage resources effectively to achieve priority outcomes, mitigate risks and comply with governance framework
- Represent the AFP at specialist fora
- Build the AFP’s next generation of forensics specialist by guiding, mentoring and developing team leaders and team members

Eligibility

- This position requires the successful candidate to obtain a Negative Vetting 2 Security Clearance.
