Job Description


As the Head of Division, Economic and Analytical Services Division you will support the department and its Ministers to enable globally competitive industries. The division aims to shape policy by providing rigorous, strategic and compelling research, analysis, statistics and policy advice on current and emerging issues affecting business to help deliver the department’s aim to drive growth and job creation for a more prosperous Australia, by facilitating economic transformation and boosting business competitiveness.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

• Qualifications in economics or a related discipline, ideally at post-graduate level and/or
• a minimum of five years’ experience as a senior/chief economist.

This recruitment process is being used to fill a current ongoing SES Band 2 position. A merit pool may be established to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing SES Band 2 vacancies should they become available within 12 months from the date advertised. Non-ongoing opportunities may be offered for an initial period of up to 18 months with the possibility of extension (maximum 3 years).
