Duties


The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO): Participant and Planning Experience is a key operating role in the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) that will serve 460,000 participants in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and administer around $22B per annum in funds at full Scheme roll-out.

The NDIA is seeking an exceptional leader to join a strong and committed executive leadership team to deliver this once in a generation change in the way disability supports are funded and provided in Australia. Outstanding leaders with a disability or lived disability experience are encouraged to apply.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the DCEO for Participant and Planning Experience is responsible for delivering high quality participant services nationally across 130 locations, including oversight of:
- Assessing eligibility for access to the NDIS;
- Facilitating, developing, and reviewing individualised plans with participants and their families that help participants realise their social and economic potential;
- Working with a large network of community sector partners to support participants in the development and delivery of their plans; and
- Implementing changes in the way experiences are delivered to improve the quality of services for participants.


 

Eligibility


To be considered as an eligible candidate, applicants will be an exceptional leader with proven senior operating leadership experience in a large and complex service delivery environment. They will have a deep commitment to the potential of people with disability, including the underpinning insurance principles of the NDIS. They will have a track record of achieving through people, as well as through strong processes and systems. They will be an excellent listener; have a strong commitment to improving the quality and consistency of delivery experiences as well as achieving outcomes, including through innovative practice. They will be a problem solver who is relentlessly committed to getting it right for participants. They should be an outstanding communicator and have demonstrated strong, ongoing and genuine stakeholder engagement.

Experience in working with a Board and the Commonwealth and State Governments is also desirable.
