Duties


Do you want to make a difference in combating climate change at a national level?

The Clean Energy Regulator is the Government body responsible for administering legislation to reduce Australia’s carbon emissions and increase the use of clean energy nation-wide. Everything we do is connected to measuring, managing, reducing or offsetting Australia's carbon emissions.

As a graduate within our highly regarded Clean Energy Regulator Graduate Development Program, you will have the opportunity to develop a well-rounded knowledge of the work of the agency, have access to ongoing learning and career progression opportunities, and develop a deep understanding of Australia’s biggest policy challenges.

Over the 11 month program, participants will experience:
• three rotations over the length of the program;
• the opportunity to provide preferences for two of the rotations;
• an intensive and engaging development program;
• a comprehensive calendar of learning and development, networking events and activities;
• delivery of a major project in collaboration with the graduate cohort; and
• a mentor and buddy program to help develop new skills and help you align your experience and knowledge with the agency.

 

Eligibility


To be eligible for this program, you will need to:
• have completed an undergraduate degree or higher in the last three years or be in your last year of study (to be completed by January 2020),
• have maintained a credit (or equivalent) average throughout the degree,
• be an Australian citizen or receive Australian citizenship status by January 2020,
• be willing to relocate to Canberra (relocation assistance will be offered to the successful applicants), and
• be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to a minimum of Baseline level.


Additional eligibility requirements – affirmative measures

Eligible applicants are only persons:
• Of aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
• Who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; and
• Who are accepted by their community as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

As a part of the application submission process you will be required to upload a document that confirms your Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.

• National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme, under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007
