Duties


AHL’s purpose is to provide culturally safe, fit-for-purpose, affordable accommodation for Indigenous Australians who need to be away from home to access employment opportunities, health, education and other essential services. Our hostels operate 365 days a year on a 24/7 basis. The Position:
We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our busy and high performing Payroll Team. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- technical knowledge of payroll practices in the APS;
- proficiency in the use of a contemporary HRMIS as well as Excel;
- a high level of attention to detail and administrative skills;
- an ability to interpret and provide advice on entitlements, legislation and policy;
- a thorough understanding of superannuation and experience in the application of legislation and APS scheme rules.

This is an Identified Position meaning applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of issues faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively.

Eligibility


To be eligible for engagement and to maintain employment, applicants must:
- Provide proof of Australian citizenship;
- Undergo a satisfactory National Criminal History Check;
- Meet fitness for duty requirements; and
- Satisfactorily complete a six month probationary period.
