Job Description

Duties

Are you an experienced radiation safety officer or a have a related relevant tertiary degree and need some real life experience?

Joint Capabilities Group has an opportunity for you to utilise your skills to contribute to radiation safety across the Logistics lifecycle. This will include the development and implementation of radiation safety policy, technical oversight of the ionising radiation hazards, technical advice in the development of licence applications and regulatory approval requests, research and incident investigation. This particular position will have a strong focus on radioactive material and waste management. You will be part of a small team and will enjoy the freedom of a relatively autonomous environment, with plenty of support where required.

This environment will suit someone who likes having the opportunity to take responsibility and be accountable for their role, and who enjoys the challenge of liaising with many different stakeholders. This is a diverse role that provides plenty of opportunity for national travel, to meet the need to complete onsite field work whilst also delivering verbal and written communications and reporting. Your stakeholders sit across Defence and some are external to our organisation; this will give you significant insight into the Department as a whole. The successful applicant will benefit from tailored, specific learning and development opportunities.
