Job Description

Duties


RET and Energy Section and ERF Policy and Methods Section

• Contribute to the branch objectives in relation to one or more of the schemes we administer by:

»practicing active issues management;
»building and maintaining relationships within the Agency, with the Department of Environment and Energy and our regulatory partners and stakeholders;
»undertaking environmental scanning, sharing insights & championing knowledge management
»acting as a central point for co-ordination across the agency.

People within our policy teams:

• will interpret and apply legislation,
• are dynamic and drive quick responses to changes in our operating environment and legislative framework,
• solve complex problems,
• display discipline and judgement,
• communicate effectively, and
• build and sustain sound stakeholder and client relationships to advance the work of the agency.

About the roles

We are seeking individuals with a broad range of experience and capability who can operate in a fast paced and changing environment, add value through their interpersonal, analytical and technical skills and display drive and initiative.
If you have a background in law, science, economics and markets or policy we are interested in hearing from you. Experience in or understanding of the energy and agricultural sectors would also be an advantage.

Tertiary qualifications in one or more of these fields will be highly regarded.
We are recruiting for a range of ongoing and non-ongoing roles to fill current vacancies.

We will also create a merit pool that will be accessed over the next 12 months to fill opportunities as they emerge within our agency.

 

Eligibility


This position is a security-assessed position. The successful applicant will be required to hold, or be able to obtain, a Baseline security clearance.

All applicants must be Australian citizens.

Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified term

Non-ongoing positions will be offered for an initial period of 12 months with the posibility for extension, these may also have the potential to become ongoing within that twelve months

The Clean Energy Regulator is the Government body responsible for administering legislation to reduce carbon emissions and increase the use of clean energy.

The Clean Energy Regulator has administrative responsibilities for the:
• National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme, under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007
• Emissions Reduction Fund, under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011
• Renewable Energy Target, under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000, and
• Australian National Registry of Emissions Units, under the Australian National Registry of Emissions Units Act 2011.
