Job Description


As an electronics technician you would be working with other engineers and technicians to design, build, test, integrate, and troubleshoot customised electrical systems. You would be working on a combination of short term development and integration, longer term research and developments, and short manufacturing runs.

The position is based in a workshop environment within a mixed team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers and technicians who you would be working with to turn developments into tested and practical solutions. Because of the size of the team, you would be expected to both maintain your core skillset as an electronics technician and also to develop your skills outside of your core area. You would have an interest in personal development and this would be encouraged and supported.

Core Duties:

Either individually or as a team member,
• Contribute to the development of new systems;
• Assemble printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) both by hand and by automation (pick and place);
• Integrate electronic systems;
• Test, fault-find, and repair electronic systems;
• Reverse engineer electronic systems;
• Document and record development and testing; and
• Manage and maintain equipment and materials stores to enable rapid development and manufacturing.

Education, qualification and experience requirements:

The following education, qualifications and/or experience are essential:
• A Certificate III in an electronics discipline or demonstrated similar experience;
• At least 3 years on the job experience in an electronics discipline;
• Experience in building, testing, and operation of electrical systems; and
• The ability to maintain subject matter expertise and to rapidly acquire expertise in relevant technologies and fields;


Citizenship: To be eligible for engagement, applicants must be Australian citizens.

Security Assessment: The successful applicant will be required to undergo a Security Clearance.
