Job Description


The Environment Manager will provide advice on environmental legal issues and exercise planning, as well as provide direction on priority of tasks.

1. Develop and maintain the Fleet’s Environmental Systems to ensure Navy complies with legislation and best practices.

2. Liaise with internal and external agencies to ensure that Fleet remains abreast of contemporary environmental issues.

3. Develop and deliver education and promotion programs.

4. Review the Environmental Compliance Departmental Management Audits, including undertaking ECDMA on behalf of Forces Command.

5. Oversee and advise on environmental hazards and risk management.

6. Oversee and advise on Fleet environmental incident reporting.

7. Analyse environmental data and trends.

8. Maintain MSB Environmental Library and Website to ensure policies, orders, procedures, guidance and reporting are current and relevant.

9. Supervise Staff Officers - Environmental and other personnel as required.

10. Assist the Deputy Director – Professional Services with the management of the section.
