Duties


At the ATO, you’ll do work that makes a real difference to the lives of Australians and that contributes to their economic and social wellbeing.

We are seeking a finance professional with a strong record of achievement in finance and budget management in large and complex environments to join our ATO Finance business line.

As an Assistant Commissioner, you’ll provide expert advice in relation to a range of financial management activities in a public sector environment, including; corporate procurement, contract management, financial reporting and accounting.

You’ll play an integral role ensuring the ATO maintains a high level of financial integrity by ensuring transactions are complete, accurate, transparent and in accordance with legislative requirements.

You’ll be open and accountable and work collaboratively to develop and implement client and stakeholder communication and engagement strategies.

Our ideal candidate

> has the knowledge to establish core systems and tools which support ATO Finance in implementing and leading strategic financial management that supports enterprise requirements and optimise market forecasts

> possesses excellent stakeholder relationship skills and the ability to work collaboratively with business representatives and Government agencies to provide an exceptional client experience and deliver contemporary, professional and efficient outcomes

> has a strong focus on financial and resource management including delivering a balanced budget, the ability to meet current and future enterprise plans and deliver improvements, sustainability and agility to the business

> has the ability to strategically partner with business and other Government agencies to provide high level advice and expertise in procurement, and finance strategies to support the achievement of business outcomes and deliver ongoing sustainable value

> leads by example and embodies our cultural traits

This role may be offered as full time or part time on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Albury, Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Melbourne CBD, Parramatta or Penrith.

We offer a competitive total remuneration package (including allowances and superannuation) in the range of $230,246 to $266,374 per annum, depending on experience.
