Job Description

With a career at Austrade you can be a truly global citizen. You’ll interact with colleagues working in offices around the world who help Australian businesses, education and training institutions expand internationally and who promote Australia as a destination for investment and productive partnerships.

We think it’s important that our audiences can access and understand these insights easily. Connecting through social media is core to this.

We’re looking for an experienced, confident and creative social media strategist to help Austrade build on our social presence and bring unity (not uniformity) to our channels.

Reporting to the Social Media Manager, you’ll balance internal stakeholders without losing sight of the overarching social media strategy which combines the needs of our audience and goals of our organisation.

You’ll also creatively manage the planning, production and delivery of content – sometimes live from an event – so copywriting experience and an eye for design is crucial to make sure everything is on brand, channel-appropriate and performing as best as it can.

You’ll also be working with social media practitioners across Austrade’s global network to streamline social media reporting objectives and metrics, benchmarking against competitors.

From Instagram to WeChat, you’ll grow our partnerships with platforms, bringing new tools and techniques to Austrade.

You’ll also be a great communicator who can confidently and constructively feedback to colleagues from across the organisation, helping them understand the best way to engage with social media, showcasing best practice.

The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and have, or be willing to undergo a security clearance to the level of Baseline Vetting as a condition of employment.
