The Attorney-General's Department is seeking the services of an experienced Applications Solutions Architect to work in the Chief Technology Office. The Chief Technology Office acts as the steward of the present and future technical direction and provides assurance over change processes. This position will be located at the Symonston office.

The application solution architect is a critical member of the Chief Technology Office team responsible for the conversion of business requirements into planning and design of current and future business systems. This position is the core resource for coordination of design and implementation for business application projects. The successful person will apply their considerable expertise and knowledge in support of the various business system dependencies between the infrastructure and other business capabilities. This position undertakes governance and assurance for developing systems to ensure consistency with departmental business systems standards.

• Demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of application and solution architecture
• Demonstrated ability to work with Agile project teams that includes technical staff and stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to develop architectural artefacts, not limited to roadmaps, current and future state designs, and high level and detailed designs
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with the project team to design and specify a technical solution that meets project and departmental requirements
• Demonstrated ability to support one or more technical teams in the development and delivery of business solutions
• Demonstrated experience in:
o design and development of enterprise applications that span multiple domains, including consideration of their underlying infrastructure
o leading and influencing end-to-end solution designs, including facilitation of solution implementation
o one or more of: ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, Dynamics CRM, TFS/git, SQL Server, ADFS, React, Azure, AWS
o web service / API design using one or more of: ASP.NET Web API, WCF, JSON, SOAP
• Highly regarded but not mandatory:
o experience with identity management and/or authentication protocols including WS Federation, SAML, OpenID Connect
o experience with automated build and deployment packages
o understanding and experience of system design for cloud environments
 

Eligibility


Applicants offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a police record check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a specified clearance level. The successful applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information.

Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.

Other preferred qualifications:
• A degree in computer science, software engineering or information technology will be highly regarded, but is not considered mandatory.

Non-ongoing opportunities will be offered for a specified term of varying periods up to 18 months, with the possibility of extension. The maximum initial engagement period is 18 months which can possibly be extended to 3 years as per the Public Service Regulations 1999, Sub-regulation 3.5(3).requirements.
