About the Branch:

The Agency Support Branch reports directly to the Chair and is responsible for supporting the effective and efficient operation of the agency while facilitating the agency’s compliance with legislation, policies and guidelines as a non-corporate Commonwealth entity.

The branch supports the scheme-focus of other branches within the agency by delivering functions such as financial management, performance reporting, parliamentary services, procurement, risk management and assurance, facilities management and human resource management that facilitates efficient resource management and corporate accountability.

Please note our organisation structure is under review. There may be some minor changes which will be finalised prior to making an appointment to this position.

Position duties:

Management and leadership oversight of the following functions:

• Corporate services encompassing Finance, Human Resources, Risk Management, Procurement, Security and Facilities Management;
• Preparation of the Agency’s three year corporate plan, annual business plan and annual reports;
• Internal Audit and Assurance functions;
• Emergency response, disaster recovery, and business continuity arrangements; and
• Role for CER operations and staff;
• Actively promote excellence in corporate services and a culture of compliance within the Clean Energy Regulator;
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the Clean Energy Regulator as a member of the Strategic Leadership Team;
• Lead the internal reporting cycle for the Clean Energy Regulator including monthly dashboard reporting, corporate and business planning;
• Lead the external reporting cycle including annual report, annual financial statements and Portfolio Budget Statement;
• Actively build sustainable relationships within the Clean Energy Regulator, across the APS and with external parties including key strategic relationships with other agencies and service providers;
• Manage and coordinate the corporate resources available to the Clean Energy Regulator to deliver efficient and effective services with the ability to align resources for the future of the organisation.

Lead and Chair a number of Corporate Committees including:
• Security Management Committee
• Management Response Team
• Incident Management Team
• Remuneration Committee


Experience in senior leadership of corporate teams is necessary for this role in a government environment.

A degree in a corporate discipline (Accounting, HR, Management, etc.) is considered highly desirable.



This position is a security-assessed position. The successful applicant will be required to hold, or be able to obtain, a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.
