Job Description

The ANAO Graduate Program sets you up for a challenging and varied career where you’ll contribute to meaningful work that serves the broader Australian community.

We are a trusted partner of the Parliament and work in a fast-paced, dynamic sector where respect, integrity and excellence drives the way we work - these are also the core values we look for in our people.

Our graduates get the unique opportunity to see and understand how other Australian Government entities work. As an ANAO graduate, you’ll learn how to analyse and report on the performance and finances of these entities, or how to support these functions.

We’re seeking graduates from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds. The most sought after degrees for each of our groups include:

• AASG: Accounting, Economics and Commerce.

• PASG: almost any degree. Your skills are what count here—for example, research, analysis, written communication and project management.

• SADA: Data Analytics, Business Informatics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems and IT Security related disciplines. Candidates from Accounting/Commerce academic backgrounds, especially when combined with an IT discipline, would also be highly regarded.

• PSRG: Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Public Policy and Law.

• CMG: Human Resources, Finance, Communication, Business, Digital Design and IT.

If you’re applying, it's also important that you:

• have strong communication skills;
• have the ability to write clearly and concisely;
• are a self-starter;
• have well-developed conceptual and analytical abilities; and
• are an achiever with a strong sense of purpose.

Regardless of the team, you will work with colleagues who are skilled, committed and diverse - just like you. For further information on the ANAO and the work that we do, visit

To be eligible for the ANAO Graduate Program, you must:

• have completed a qualification equivalent to a three-year Australian undergraduate degree in the last seven years, or have reasonable expectations to complete your degree in 2019;

• be an Australian citizen with evidence of citizenship;

• be prepared to undertake a security clearance process and if granted, maintain the security clearance status; and

• be willing to relocate to Canberra.

The filling of this vacancy is intended to constitute an affirmative measure under section 8(1) of the 'Racial Discrimination Act 1975'. This vacancy is only available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
