Job Description


OPC is looking for a highly motivated leader with a passion for corporate services and demonstrated experience in delivering high quality IT services with a strong client focus.

As General Manager and Chief Information Officer, reporting to the First Parliamentary Counsel, you will lead a high performing multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of IT, Human Resources, finance, contract management, corporate governance and administrative support services. As a member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for contributing to shaping and driving the overall strategic direction of OPC. In delivering excellence in corporate services and a high performing contemporary ICT capability, you will work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will also demonstrate a broad understanding of the legislative, governance and accountability frameworks that OPC operates within together with strong leadership, people, budget and resource management skills.

To be successful in this key role, you will be a collaborative leader with strong strategic vision, have extensive experience in corporate services delivery, and have advanced ICT knowledge and skills gained in a public sector IT environment. You will have a people focus and the capacity to build and lead teams across a variety of disciplines to drive quality outcomes. You will also have high level communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels, build trust, and nurture relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external to the agency. You will have strong integrity, be committed to quality outcomes and able to quickly gain a strong understanding of OPC and its functions.

Relevant qualifications in an ICT discipline and / or extensive experience in public sector ICT is highly desirable.

The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and will be required to obtain and maintain a security assessment at the Negative Vetting 1 level.
