Job Description


An opportunity to provide strategic leadership to a world class research institute with detailed involvement in one of the world's most significant mining rehabilitation projects.

A preeminent science manager with outstanding leadership and management abilities combined with excellent technical skills.

Lead the Environmental Research Institute of the Supervising Scientist including; provision of technical oversight and quality control, and the management of the research program, human resources and budget.

ERISS conducts targeted research to inform the rehabilitation of the Ranger uranium mine, and in particular the supervision and assessment activities of the Supervising Scientist.


High-level scientific expertise and experience, preferably including a PhD, in a field relevant to mining impacts and/or remediation in Northern Australia.


The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.

Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified term

This is a specified term employment opportunity for a period of 9 months but may be extended up to two years as per the Public Service Regulations 1999, Subregulation 3.5(3).
