Job Description


Reporting directly to the CFO the Procurement Manager leads the Memorial in the provision of high quality procurement and contract management advice, support and compliance. The Procurement Manager is also responsible for the development and management of the Memorial’s purchasing framework, policies and procedures to ensure compliance and value for money. The responsibilities of the role require demonstrated experience across a range of procurement functions, from tender development through to contract management support and a good understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.


• Under limited direction, provide high quality procurement and contract management advice by maintaining a sound knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices and an awareness of Australian Government priorities and initiatives that have implications for procurement.
• Management of the Memorial’s AusTender presence including, panel maintenance including DS4P, review of contract data prior to publication, publication of Approach to Market (ATM) Annual Procurement Plan and opening of tender boxes.
• Lead the procurement team to provide high quality, practical and timely procurement and contract advice and services that meet the Memorials goals and align with strategic objectives.
• Oversee all internal and external procurement related reporting e.g. Senate Order reports, Indigenous Procurement Policy, Austender publications, Questions on Notice and management reports.
• Manage and mentor staff, including the coordination and management of workflow, consistent work practices, team performance and outputs, professional support and development and mentoring of staff and effective management of change initiatives.
• Building, maintain and promoting internal and external relationships through conducting high level liaison, consultation and negation with stakeholders, along with training where appropriate.
• Represent the Memorial at various forums and ensure key initiatives are implemented seamlessly within the Memorial.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate procurement policies, documentation and internal training material.
• Participate as a member of the Finance Section and contribution towards section planning, and delivery of key strategies where relevant to procurement and contract management.
