Job Description


Under the direction of Director, Human Resources, the Workplace Relations Advisor will manage workplace relations matters in AHL. The role is responsible for the management and provision of generalist advice on a wide range of complex workplace relations matters, including investigations, dispute resolutions, grievances and interpretation of relevant legislation and case management.

-Provide high level advice on a broad range of complex HR matters, including:
*Industrial and employee relations
*Interpretation of relevant legislation, eg Fair Work Act 2009 and Enterprise Agreements
*Policies and procedures
-Case manage complex and sensitive employee relations issues, including investigations under the APS Values and Code of Conduct.
-Case manage complex employee complaints, including the engagement of investigators, provision of advice on solutions that are fair, impartial and would withstand independent scrutiny.
-Prepare complex and comprehensive reports and briefings on employee relations matters, including preparing AHL to appear before the Fair Work Commission for unfair dismissal and general protection cases.
-Coordinate performance management processes for AHL employees, including supporting underperformance issues.
-Lead and contribute to the development, implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.



-Experience in interpretation of workplace relations legislation, industrial instruments and policies.
-Strong HR generalist knowledge with sound judgement.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with focus on achieving positive outcomes.
-Experience in case management of complex code of conduct cases and employees complaints.
-Experience in the development of policies in the APS environment.
