Job Description


The Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency – ASEA oversees national efforts to prevent exposure to asbestos fibres in order to eliminate asbestos-related disease in Australia by coordinating the National Strategic Plan for Asbestos Management and Awareness 2014-18 (NSP). The vacant position is a pivotal one in a small agency of 12 staff based in Sydney.

In line with expectations of an Australian Public Service Executive Level 1, specific requirements of the position are to manage the coordination of a number of deliverables in the following NSP outcomes:
1.) Awareness
2.) Best Practice
3.6.) Imported materials
6.) International Leadership

The position is also secretariat to several working groups, as well as involved in managing corporate services required by the agency, such as property.



Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.

This is a designated security assessed position. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security assessment at the Baseline level.
