2019 Future Technologists Graduate Program

The Program
During the 12 month Program you will be exposed to, and involved in, the collection, management and advanced analysis of technical intelligence through a myriad of innovative means. The environment is dynamic, challenging and fast-paced.

As an operational or enterprise technology officer within the program you will directly contribute to the protection of Australia, its people and its interests.

During the Future Technologists Graduate Program, you may be involved in just some of the following roles.
- Developing in-house interception solutions (including viewing, triage and exploitation tools);
- analysing technically complex data sets and implementing machine learning methodologies;
- engineering deployable technical solutions;
- refining technical tradecraft processes to ensure business outcomes;
- utilising software and hardware skills to develop and automate services;
- assuring the ongoing security of ASIO's ICT infrastructure; and
- applying networking, virtualisation or fault diagnosis skils to ASIO's domestic and international 24x7 ICT environment.



If you'd like to be considered for this diverse and stimulating technical program, you must:

- be an Australian citizen with a checkable background;
- have lodged your application within Australia;
- be assessed as suitable to hold and maintain a Positive Vetting security clearance;
- have completed - or be in your final year of - a degree of relevance to technical intelligence e.g: Cyber Security; Computer Forensics; Mathematics; Data Science; Data Analytics; Network Engineering - including Wireless Networks and Remote Network Management; Software Engineering and/or Development; Telecommunications; Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering; Information Security; and ICT Systems Integration and Management; and
- be willing to relocate to Canberra (ASIO will cover uplift and settling in costs).

Applicants should also be able to:
- work collaboratively in small dynamic teams;
- display an ongoing commitment to technical learning; and
- design and deliver innovative solutions to constantly evolving technical problems.
