Job Description


As an APS 5 Team Member, IT Auditor, in the Systems Assurance section of the Systems Assurance and Data Analytics Branch, under the broad supervision and guidance of the Director or Senior IT Auditor, you would:
Either individually or as part of a team, undertake IT audits assignments (performance and financial) and ensure the delivery of audit products;
Provide high level assistance in the conduct of IT audits;
Provide professional and technical advice on a range of IT audit issues;
Contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives; and
Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of client relationships.

The work is characterised by:
A degree of independent action and initiative within constraints set by senior management;
Tasks of medium complexity;
Decision making within rules and regulation and consistent with internal operating policies and procedures; and
Liaison with client agency management and other stakeholders.

There are no mandatory qualifications for this role. However, the following attributes are highly desirable:
Degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Accounting, Commerce or other relevant qualifications;
Understanding of audit risk methodologies and/or benchmarking practices;
Developing IT technical and/or audit skills;
Understanding of relevant IT standards; and
Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a technical IT audit team.


To be considered for employment with the ANAO you must be an Australian Citizen. You must also have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance to perform all duties in this role.
