Job Description


As an APS 6 Team Leader, Senior IT Auditor, in the Systems Assurance section of the Systems Assurance and Data Analytics Branch, under the general supervision and guidance of the Director, you would:
Play a lead role in a work area responsible for undertaking IT audit assignments (performance and financial);
Assist in the formulation of IT Audit business and operational plans;
Provide professional and technical advice on a range of IT audit issues;
Contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives;
Raise awareness of IT issues for performance and financial audits;
Manage client relationships; and
Mentor, guide and support professional development of staff.

The work is characterised by:
A degree of independent action and initiative under broad guidance;
Tasks of medium complexity;
Decision making within rules and regulations and consistent with internal operating policies and procedures;
A supervisory component; and
Liaison with client agency management and other stakeholders.

There are no mandatory qualifications for this role. However, the following attributes are highly desirable:
Degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Accounting, Commerce or other relevant qualifications;
Relevant professional qualifications such as CISA, CA or CPA;
Good IT technical and audit skills;
Appreciation of the impact of IT on key business processes;
Understanding of auditing standards and relevant IT standards;
Understanding of audit risk methodologies and/or benchmarking practices;
Experience in project or task management including planning, leading and managing technical IT audits; and
Leadership, interpersonal and people management skills.


To be considered for employment with the ANAO you must be an Australian Citizen. You must also have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance to perform all duties in this role.
