Job Description


The Customer Service Centre (CSC) is a section within the Research, Regulation and Communications Branch of the Corporate and Research Division (CRD). CRD provide a wide-range of support services across the organisation and includes People, Finance and Procurement, Information and Communications Technology, Research, Regulation and Communications.

The role of Enquiries Officer is to respond to customer enquiries and complaints that are received on five CSC communication channels - phone, email, web-form, fax or letter.

The Enquiries Officer determines whether the subject matter of an enquiry is within the ACMA’s jurisdiction, is simple or complex (complex enquiries are escalated to the relevant line area), provides an appropriate response to the customer via the relevant communication channel and creates a record for the customer interaction in the Customer Record Management (CRM) system. The Enquiries Officer undertakes this function for more than thirty ACMA topics



To be eligible for employment with the ACMA applicants must be an Australian citizen.

An applicant's suitability for employment with the ACMA will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process will include a requirement for the applicant to undergo and satisfy an AFP National Police Check and to complete a Health Declaration


This position is available on an ongoing basis. An order of merit may be established and used to fill similar ongoing or non-ongoing vacancies available at this level.

Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified term

Non-ongoing vacancies filled from an order of merit may be offered as a specified term for up to 12 months with a possibility of extension.
