Job Description


Under the direction of the Senior Residential Youth Worker and Head of Boarding, Residential Youth Worker will assist in in the management of the day-to-day operations of the facility, maintain existing and establish new working relationships with an expanded scope to improve outcomes for Indigenous students and community.
- Assist and encourage students with routine school activities, including class preparation and attendance, homework and studies.
- Engage with students through group work and culturally appropriate recreational activities. Assist to develop educational and cultural support initiatives, including mentoring and leisure activities that foster well-being and independence for students.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Residential Youth Worker team and other hostel staff to provide one-on-one support to students, ensuring their personal and educational development. Contribute new ideas and identify opportunities to improve the boarding experience for students.
- Perform the duties of the First Aid Officer, Harassment Contact Officer and Fire Warden as required.


- Hold Australian citizenship
- Obtain a Working with Children’s Check (or equivalent)
- Satisfactory National Criminal History Check
- Satisfactory Medical Assessment
- Satisfactorily complete a Probation period



Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified term
