Job Description


This section provides administration of the business services platforms and infrastructure services; maintenance of the agency’s applications, desktop services; and Application Support activities (including database management) and operational security.

The responsibilities of this section include:
• Infrastructure architecture
• Infrastructure management
• Transition and infrastructure project management
• Operational ICT security
• Desktop support
• Server administration
• Application support
• ITIL process
• Asset management
• IT Service Desk


• Supporting and maintaining Vulnerability management tools
• Supporting and maintaining Security information and event management(SIEM) tools
• IT Security Asset Management
• Provide information and support to CER staff on security related matters
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to determine ongoing ICT security requirements
• Assist the ITSA with security activities, including in maintaining and creating security policies and procedures
• Provide security governance within ITIL processes
• Contribute to Security Awareness training, activities and briefings


• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications in information technology.
• Experience with IT security



This position is a security assessed position. The successful applicant will be required to hold, or be able to obtain, a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance.

The Clean Energy Regulator has administrative responsibilities for the:
• National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme, under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007
• Emissions Reduction Fund, under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011
• Renewable Energy Target, under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000, and
• Australian National Registry of Emissions Units, under the Australian National Registry of Emissions Units Act 2011.
