Job Description


The Antarctic Modernisation Program has responsibility for major assets and initiatives to ensure the future capability of the Australian Antarctic Program and the Research Supply Icebreaker Project is a major project within this program, and covers acquisition, construction, transition into service, and through-life support of the vessel.

The Icebreaker Project Manager plays a pivotal role in managing all aspects of the project phase as well as the contract, regulatory, maintenance, and technical management once the vessel is in service.



It is highly desirable that the individual possess the following experience and skills:
• extensive and recent experience in major maritime and shipbuilding acquisition projects
• extensive project management experience.
• excellent working knowledge of the maritime regulatory framework.
