Job Description

Duties


The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) oversees the implementation of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and works with the state and territory regulatory authorities to implement and administer the NQF.

We want children in Australia to have the best start in life.

We provide national leadership on the implementation of the NQF and collaborate with the Australian and state and territory governments to:

• implement changes that benefit children birth to 13 years-of-age and their families
• monitor and promote the consistent application of the Education and Care Services National Law across all states and territories
• support the early childhood education and care sector to improve quality outcomes for children

We strive for innovation and continuous improvement and are committed to keeping the sector and the community informed with the latest developments in early childhood education and care.

The Role

Full time, fixed term position until 30 June 2018

Salary range $72,929 to $81,884

As a Communications Officer, you will be producing content for our communication channels, including newsletters for our stakeholders and updates on our website and social media channels to promote the work of ACECQA. We’re looking for someone with experience in developing content, writing and editing for multiple channels, and can use or quickly learn website CMS, marketing and desktop publishing applications.

You will also be supporting stakeholder engagement and communication strategies and public information campaigns by assisting with forums, meetings and special events. We’re looking for someone with experience in stakeholder engagement such as managing events.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to work independently using your initiative and be part of high-performing and supportive team to produce quality work and meet deadlines.

Eligibility


Selection Criteria

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

1. Demonstrated skills in sourcing, writing and editing communication materials for a range of channels, including print and online media

2. Proven experience in stakeholder engagement activities, such as event management

3. Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, web content management systems, electronic marketing software and desktop publishing applications

4. Capacity to operate both independently, using initiative and self-direction, and as a team member to produce consistently high quality work and meet deadlines

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to tailor communication to a variety of audiences

6. Tertiary qualification/s in a discipline such as communications or marketing, or relevant experience
