The Australian Federal Police is seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced individual to join its Senior Executive team as the Manager People Strategies.

The mission of the Australian Federal Police is to provide dynamic and effective law enforcement to the people of Australia. It provides policing throughout Australia in relation to the prevention and detection of crimes against the Commonwealth, its laws and integrity, and community police services to the Community of the ACT.

Reporting to the National Manager People, Safety and Security, the Manager People Strategies has responsibility for the effective delivery of people services across a geographically dispersed organisation. The Manager People Strategies supports the senior executive through shaping and delivering strategic people practices. The role is responsible for providing high level advice and guidance on corporate people management practices including strategic workforce planning, industrial relations, recruitment, performance culture, talent management and leadership development, diversity and inclusion.

You will need to demonstrate outstanding values-based leadership, communication, networking, negotiation and change management skills and have a proven ability of building and maintaining relationships with multiple senior stakeholders and an ability to deliver results in a dynamic and flexible environment.

Experience in complex human resource strategy, capability development and human resource (or related) qualifications are highly desirable. Diversity of experience across the private and public sectors would be advantageous.

The successful candidate must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret (NV2) level. This role will be Canberra based.

The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract (three years, with a possible one-plus-one year extension).
