Job Description


Working under limited direction:

1. Undertake investigation, competition and public benefit analysis of mergers and other potentially anticompetitive arrangements across a wide range of industries .

2. Conduct meetings and undertake market inquiries with industry stakeholders, including customers and competitors of merging firms or applicants for authorisation.

3. Draft and present to ACCC Commissioners recommendations in relation to applications for authorisation or mergers.

4. Prepare correspondence and submissions to industry stakeholders and governments.

5. Negotiate and draft undertakings and conditions to remedy competition concerns raised by a merger or other proposed conduct, and ensure ongoing compliance via monitoring activities.

6. Assist with litigation in the Federal Court or the Australian Competition Tribunal, including preparation of instructions for the ACCC’s lawyers and liaison with consultants.
