Job Description

Duties


The Executive Officer manages key functions in the office of the CEO through the provision of proactive, efficient and effective executive and administrative management: providing timely and relevant advice and information, stakeholder engagement and maintaining key corporate functions on behalf of the organisation.

The Executive Officer provides support to the CEO and other members of the Executive, including coordination, communication and implementation of projects and strategies to support the achievement of strategic and operational objectives.

As a key point of contact within the AHL Executive area, the Executive Officer is responsible for contributing to coordination of Board activities and the Executive team, including through internal and external stakeholder relations.

It is important that the successful applicant be able to demonstrate a track record of professionalism in an environment dealing with sensitive, in-confidence matters.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Preparation of high level operational and strategic advice to the CEO, Board and Executive

2. Act as the Executive point of contact, liaise with stakeholders and action requests to coordinate communication and proactively ensure responses meet deadlines

3. Implement, monitor and report on strategic, operational and project plans to inform decision making and planning

4. Provide issues management and support, responding to emerging issues to ensure effective resolution with minimal risk to the organisation

5. Lead and/or contribute to projects to support the achievement of organisation level strategic and operational objectives

6. Research and write submissions, responses, correspondence and key briefings, including for the CEO, Chair, Senate Estimates and relevant Parliamentary and cross-Government requests to support achievement of organisational objectives

7. Coordination of high level internal governance and business improvement initiatives, including preparation of annual report and key corporate publications

8. In-confidence project and contract management

9. Represent the CEO at various intergovernmental and community based stakeholder engagements.
 

Eligibility


- Hold Australian citizenship;
- Satisfactory National Criminal History Check;
- Satisfactory Medical Assessment; and
- Satisfactorily complete a Probation period.
