Duties


ACECQA is seeking a Senior Officer, Early Childhood to join its Operations Team in the Strategy & Operations group.

The Senior Officer Early Childhood will help assess applications for the Excellent rating and provide support to expert review panels conducting second tier reviews of quality ratings.

Duties:

Provide advice to applicants, verbally and in writing, about the assessments

Assess, consider and provide advice on applications from education and care services for the excellent rating

Contribute expertise to other projects including training for authorised officers

Prepare recommendations for the awarding of the excellent rating and briefings for the second tier review panel

Prepare draft recommendations and decisions on the excellent rating

Prepare operational documents such as guidelines, information sheets and FAQs

Draft briefs, reports and papers for the ACECQA Board, working groups and external stakeholders

Build effective working relationships with state and territory regulatory authorities and other external key stakeholders, and work with staff across ACECQA

Other duties as and when required.


 

Eligibility


Selection Criteria

1. Early childhood teaching qualifications and a working knowledge of education and care service delivery including an understanding of quality in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC)

2. Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively and negotiate confidently, backed by high level written and oral communication skills

3. A proven ability to work autonomously and to achieve results

4. A proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and to develop productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

5. Analytical and research skills, including the ability to work with legislation and associated materials

6. Display personal drive, integrity and initiative.
