The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) was established to lead and co-ordinate improvements in safety and quality in health care at a national level. The Commission identifies issues and policy directions and recommends priorities for action. It has responsibilities to report publicly on the state of safety and quality, disseminate information and knowledge, consult widely and provide strategic advice to Health Ministers on ‘best practice’ thinking to drive quality improvement.
The Program Manager will work closely with the Clinical Director, and Senior Executives to establish the strategic direction of the Commission’s Clinical Care Standards program. This work will involve leading a formal consultation process with key stakeholders and public consultation for each standard. The Program Manager is also tasked with leading the development, and national implementation of the clinical care standards.
Registration as a healthcare professional is desirable but candidates with relevant tertiary qualifications in a health related field and experience working directly with healthcare professionals will be considered.
