Job Description


As DIAC’s Financial Controller, you will provide leadership to the Accounting and Financial Control Branch and support the Chief Finance Officer and other branch heads within the Financial Strategy and Services Division in leading financial reform across the department. You will be responsible for improvement and reform of the department’s financial management and control environment, including external reporting, financial and accounting policy, financial system policy and direction, and financial compliance and control.

To be a strong contender for this challenging role you will have a solid record of innovative achievement as a senior financial manager, with demonstrated high level abilities in relation to driving organisational change, engaging effectively with your peers and the executive, building and maintaining high performing teams, shaping strategic thinking, and developing innovative solutions, as well as displaying personal drive and integrity.


To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be Australian citizens.

It is expected that the Financial Controller will be CA / CPA qualified, with at least five years’ senior accounting experience in providing financial services, strategic advice and analysis within a large public or private sector organisation.
