The Australian Communications and Media Authority’s (ACMA) in-house Legal Services Division provides legal support and assistance to the Authority and all aspects of ACMA’s business operations.

ACMA’s Legal Division an exciting opportunity for a talented lawyer to join its team at the principal lawyer level in either one of our central offices in Melbourne, Canberra or Sydney.

The position offers enthusiastic and experienced lawyers the opportunity to be involved in some of the exciting and challenging developments in the regulation of the media and communications industries.

The legal work for in-house lawyers in ACMA is diverse and ranges across legal areas such as statutory interpretation, administrative law, investigation and litigation, input into policy initiatives and development of regulatory instruments.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate high level legal skills, experience in one or more of the relevant legal areas and excellent communications skills. The capacity to work in a team environment, which is located across different geographical locations, is desirable.
