Job Description
Duties
Under the general direction of the Senior Rangers – Operations, in accordance with the Park’s Lease Agreement, the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) and Management Plan, the Ranger will contribute effectively to the joint management of a World Heritage National Park by undertaking the following: Implementation of the Section’s works program by participating in: natural and cultural resource management programs; infrastructure construction and maintenance programs; and day to day Park operations. Occasional supervision of Rangers, Anangu trainees and day labour workers. Participating in emergency response operations such as fire suppression, searches and rescues. Undertaking interpretive walks and designated park patrols, including early, late and weekend shifts. Exercising the compliance and enforcement powers of a Ranger under the EPBC Act. Interacting with relevant stakeholders including tour operators, contractors, consultants and emergency services.
