Job Description
Duties
Under the close direction of the Section Supervisor, supported by the Training Officer and in accordance with the Lease Agreement, Kakadu Plan of Management and the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC ACT), participate in Park management programs including: Assisting with implementation of park operations including weed, animal, fire and cultural site management; assisting with delivery of park interpretive, public relations and visitor / tourism management programs; assist with delivery of natural and cultural heritage management programs. Assisting with the maintenance of park assets and infrastructure; assisting with search and rescue and other emergency operations; and completion of administrative duties such as record keeping and reporting, relevant to all aspects of park management. Liaise, consult and work with Aboriginal communities, members of the public (e.g. neighboring landholders), external authorities or special interest groups in relation to routine park or reserve operations. Assist with compliance and enforcement activities under the EPBC Act (1999) and regulations. Effectively contribute as a member of a team in a cross-cultural environment towards the joint management of a World Heritage National Park. Successfully undertake a program of training as approved by the Park Manager.
