Job Description

Duties
As a senior member of the Census Public Relations section, the role of the Census PR National Media Manager will be both challenging and rewarding. The person appointed to this role will develop and execute a national media strategy for the Census and undertake or oversee a host of other media related tasks such as:

- liaising with the media
- preparing media release schedules and media releases
- coordinating media training
- editing and distribution of Census footage and images
- media monitoring
- speech writing

The person who is engaged in this role should have experience within the media industry and have a proven track record in developing and implementing national or large scale media strategies. They will work closely with the Census Communications Director and the Campaign Manager to provide advice and support to the Census program to achieve a successful 2011 Census communications outcome.

Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified term

This position is available for approximately 18 months.
