Job Description
Duties
As a Trade Commissioner you will represent Australia and Austrade to optimise existing and establish new business networks to identify trade and investment opportunities for Australian businesses within the region, and facilitate inwards investment attraction into Australia.
To be successful, you will need to have demonstrated experience and knowledge of:
• Australian business capability across many sectors;
• The factors and decisions that are relevant to business development, growth and investment and how deals are structured and successfully executed/implemented; and
• Government practices relevant to trade and investment, including relevant assistance programs for Australian business.
We are seeking talented international business professionals with strong leadership and management skills. A commitment to providing exceptional client service and delivery of successful outcomes through innovation, a strategic approach and the sharing of knowledge is essential.
Ideally you have a proven record of successful achievement in international business development and possess the highest level of ethical and business behaviour to be a representative of Austrade and Australia.
Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are highly desirable.
Eligibility
As this is a Designated Security Assessed Position, successful candidates must be Australian citizens and will be subject to a national security assessment.

These are four year appointments and will be offered with an attractive remuneration package, including expatriate allowances and other benefits.
